Event overview

The Angles Way Ultra takes place on 24 May 2026 along the Angles Way long-distance trail that follows the Waveney River valley on the Norfolk-Suffolk border between Thetford and Great Yarmouth. Both races finish at Great Yarmouth. The trail is described as flat and made up of tracks, paths, short road sections and sandy trails that dry well.

Race details

The 100 km event starts in Diss and includes eight checkpoints with an overall cut-off of 18 hours. The 50 km event starts in Shipmeadow, includes four checkpoints and has an overall cut-off of 12 hours. Both events are cupless; drinks are provided at checkpoints but participants must bring their own cups. Coach transport to the race starts is included. Courses are fully marked with permanent Angles Way signage. Chip timing and finishers medals are provided. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in each race.

Entry and rules

Standard prices are listed for each distance, with a member discount available for affiliated club members. A 50% refund is available until 19 April 2026; after that date there are no refunds. Places can be transferred until 10 May 2026. Race rules include no passing of race numbers, reporting to the organiser if abandoning, obeying the rules of the road and no use of personal stereos or MP3 players. Run the Marriott's Way Marathon or Half Marathon on 15 Feb 2026 along a scenic, traffic free trail finishing at Aylsham Friendship Hall. Limited to 400 entrants, with course support and 5% of entries donated to East Anglian Air Ambulance.
