Suffolk Coastal Path 50K - Lowestoft to Aldeburgh

The Suffolk Coastal Path 50K is a point-to-point ultramarathon covering roughly 50 km along the Suffolk coast, starting in Lowestoft and finishing in Aldeburgh. The 2026 edition is the fifth running of the event and takes place on 12 September 2026.

The route is varied. The first 20 km follows a mix of hard paths, quiet country lanes, and scenic trails inland. From Reydon the course continues through Southwold, skirts the River Blyth estuary and proceeds toward Dunwich via moorland and forest paths. Runners pass National Trust Dunwich Heath and the edge of RSPB Minsmere, then follow coastal trails through Sizewell and Thorpeness before a seafront finish in Aldeburgh.

Aid stations are positioned at Benacre (13 km), Reydon (23.3 km), Dunwich Church (35.1 km) and Sizewell (44.2 km). Toilets are available at Reydon, Dunwich Church and Sizewell, with additional public facilities noted along the route. Navigation is fully marked and a GPX file of the course is provided.

The race carries a 9 hour time limit, is licensed by the Trail Running Association (race #8214) and held under UKA rules. The event is listed as a UTMB World Series Index Race. Entry fee is £75 or £73 for UKA affiliated runners. Minimum age is 20 and coach transfer is available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
