Suffolk Coastal Path 50K
The Suffolk Coastal Path 50K is a point-to-point trail ultramarathon held on 12 September 2026. The race covers 50K with around 120 m of elevation and runs from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh along the Suffolk coast. Navigation is fully marked and the event is an UTMB World Series index race.
The route begins on the Lowestoft seafront and combines hard paths, quiet country lanes, and scenic trails in the first 20 km. From Checkpoint 2 in Reydon the course passes through Southwold, around the River Blyth estuary and continues toward Dunwich over moorland and forest paths. Runners pass National Trust Dunwich Heath and skirt the edge of RSPB Minsmere before following coastal trails through Sizewell and Thorpeness to a seafront finish in Aldeburgh. The 2026 route includes a small reroute related to the Dunwich Heath wildfire and the route files and GPX are available for download.
Aid stations are located at CP 1 Benacre (13.7 km), CP 2 Reydon (22.6 km), CP 3 Dunwich Church (34.4 km) and CP 4 Sizewell (43.5 km). Toilets are available at CP 2, CP 3 and CP 4, with additional public facilities along the course. The race is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UKA rules. Minimum age is 20, dogs are not permitted and the published time limit is 9 hours. Entry was priced at £75 or £73 for UKA affiliated entrants and the 2026 race is listed as full with the waiting list closed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
