Suffolk Coastal Path 50K
The Suffolk Coastal Path 50K is a point-to-point trail race held on 12 September 2026 along the Suffolk coast between Lowestoft and Aldeburgh. The listed distance is 51.5K with about 192 m+ of elevation. The race starts in Kensington Gardens, Lowestoft and finishes at Moot Hall, Aldeburgh.
The route is varied: the first 20 km combines hard paths, quiet country lanes and trails. From Reydon the course passes through Southwold, around the River Blyth estuary and continues toward Dunwich via moorland and forest paths. The route also skirts RSPB Minsmere and follows coastal trails through Sizewell and Thorpeness before the seafront finish. A diversion around Dunwich Heath is in place due to recent fires and route files have been updated.
Navigation is fully marked. Aid stations are located at Benacre (12.3 km), Reydon (21.1 km, toilets), Dunwich Church (32.9 km, toilets) and Sizewell (45.2 km, toilets); there are additional public facilities along the course. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and is an UTMB World Series Index race. Other details include a 9 hour 15 minute time limit, a minimum age of 20, no dogs permitted, availability of coach transfers and a post-race bus, and downloadable resources such as a runner's guide and GPX file.
