Suffolk Coastal Path 50K
The Suffolk Coastal Path 50K is a point-to-point trail ultramarathon held on 12 September 2026 from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh. The course covers 50K with approximately 120m of elevation and is licensed by the Trail Running Association. It is listed as a UTMB World Series Index race.
The route begins on the Lowestoft seafront and combines hard paths, quiet country lanes and scenic trails. The first ~20km runs inland across varied surfaces. From Reydon the course continues through Southwold, around the River Blyth estuary and toward Dunwich via moorland and forest paths. Runners pass Dunwich Heath and skirt RSPB Minsmere before following coastal trails through Sizewell and Thorpeness to a seafront finish at Aldeburgh.
The event is fully waymarked with orange arrows and ribbons, and marshals are positioned at road crossings and busier sections. Runners are advised to carry a digital copy of the route as a backup. There are four aid stations at 13km, 23.3km (toilet), 35.1km and 44.2km (toilet). Start and finish facilities include toilets, and additional public facilities are available along the coast.
Required kit includes a mobile phone, route map on watch or phone, minimum 0.5L refillable hydration, a soft cup, a light jacket or emergency blanket, and payment method.
