Event overview

The Suffolk Coastal Path 50K is a 50 km point-to-point ultra run along the Suffolk coast, starting in Lowestoft and finishing at Moot Hall in Aldeburgh. The next edition is scheduled for 12th September 2026. The course records a little over 120 m of ascent and is predominately flat, with a mixture of paved paths, dirt trails and country lanes. The event holds TRA Licence 7678 and is run under UKA rules. It is also an UTMB World Series Index race.

Practical information

Entry is for runners aged 20 or older; standard registration is £75 (£73 for UKA affiliated runners). There is an overall 9-hour time limit and checkpoint cutoffs. The race is fully marked with orange arrow markers and ribbons, and marshals will staff road crossings and busier sections; runners are asked to carry a digital copy of the route as a backup. There are four aid stations at approximately 13 km, 23.3 km, 35.1 km and 44.2 km (toilets at CP2 and CP4). Aid station supplies include water, cola, Precision Fuel & Hydration products, gels and chews, snacks, flapjacks and fresh fruit. Required kit includes a mobile phone, route map on watch or phone, refillable water system (0.5 L minimum, 1 L recommended), a soft cup, a light jacket or emergency blanket and payment method. Coach transfers between the finish and start are available and can be booked during sign-up. Awards are presented to the top three male and female finishers and in several age categories.
