Run through history at Alnwick Castle on scenic trails via Hulne Park, the Priory and riverside paths, with 10km and half marathon options. Timed racing, medals and a donation to NE Youth make this a rewarding day for runners 15 and over.

Test yourself on Sun 15 Mar 2026 in the Lake District with a 15 km fell race from Muncaster Castle featuring 620 m of climb over rough, sometimes navigational terrain. Entry is cash only on the day, £5, teams welcome.

Take on a scenic 8 km trail with about 400 m of climb around Bulbys Wood, Ingram on Sun 15 Mar 2026. Entry is on the day only, £5, for runners aged 16 or over seeking a tough, rewarding hill challenge.

Take on the Hardmoors 55 ultramarathon, a rugged 55 mile challenge along the Cleveland Way from Guisborough to Helmsley with over 2700 m of ascent. Expect dramatic moorland vistas, tough climbs and strict mandatory kit rules.

Jarrett's Jaunt is a Lake District fell race from Wath Brow Bridge, with rugged trails, steep climbs and great views. About 9 km with 440 m ascent, the handicap format gives a fun competitive test and pre entry is required.

Experience a scenic 20 kilometre single lap around the shores of Buttermere and Crummock Water on 22 March 2026. Undulating, varied trails and limited places make this lakeside challenge a must for trail lovers.

Take on Pendle Hill by head torch at the Mountain Rescue Pendle Dark Dash, a 9.2 km night fell run from Barley that raises funds for the rescue team. Expect exposed terrain and stream crossings so bring full kit and a good head torch.

Take on Northern Traverse 2026, a self supported 300 km coast to coast ultra from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay via Wainwright's route. Expect 6,500 m of climbing across three National Parks and wild moorland and mountain views.
