NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk : event overview
The NAV4 Daffodil Run and Walk is an out and back route from Pooley Bridge Memorial Hall to Hallin Fell, following the Ullswater Way for much of the course. The route passes The Cockpit and Martindale Church and returns the same way. The full distance is 13 miles, with shorter turn back options available.
The terrain is a mix of trails and paths, sometimes wet under foot, a short length of tarmac lane, and the open slopes of Hallin Fell on a reasonably good path. The course is signposted and marshals are positioned at key points. Electronic timing and monitoring are used. A checkpoint and drinks station is located at Martindale Church and is passed twice on the out and back route.
Entry options and rules include solo and family team entries. Entry fees listed are Solo £20 per person and Family teams (maximum six) at £20 per person or £5 per person under 14. A group discount is available for larger club entries when requested prior to entering. Runners aged 14 to 18 may enter in runner starts if accompanied by an adult.
Free tea, coffee, cold drinks and traybakes will be available in the village hall for participants after the event. Pubs and cafes in Pooley Bridge provide additional post event facilities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
