Trail Running calendar near Virginia 2026-2027

Ras Na hEireann 2026 is a long standing cross country meeting in Lawlesstown, Dunleer on 8 February, featuring multiple juvenile and senior races, club team competition, and awards for top individuals and teams.

A national championship 50 km ultramarathon in Donadea Forest Park, County Kildare, organised by Donadea Running Club and scheduled for 14 February 2026. Late entries use offsite parking with a shuttle to the race.

A new 10K trail run on the Cooley Peninsula at McCrystals Track in Jenkinstown, featuring forest trails, steady climbs, runnable sections and 240 m of elevation. Finishers receive a unique medal and on site parking is available.

Join the Ulster Championship at Slieve Gullion, County Armagh on 7 March 2026 for a testing 6.3 km mountain run with 320 m climb, organised by NIMRA. Expect rugged terrain and mandatory Level B safety kit.

Pat Dunbar Memorial is a mountain running event organised by NIMRA on Saturday 28 March 2026 in the Mournes near Carrick Little. The route is 13.00 km with 3206 m climb and only major junctions are marked.

Tackle Slieve Martin in County Down on Thursday 30 April 2026, a compact 7.00 km route with 550 m of climb for a steep, scenic challenge. Mandatory kit and no GPS ensure a classic fell experience, and volunteers are warmly welcome.

Enjoy rolling hills, a beach section and a Parkrun finish hill at the Ardgillan IMRA Trail League race in Ardgillan Demesne, County Dublin on Wednesday 20 May 2026. About 9 km on a marked route with a junior 5 km option.

Join Luke's in County Down on Thursday 21 May 2026 for a challenging 7.3 km course with 450 m of ascent across marked junctions. Level B kit is mandatory so bring a waterproof, hat, gloves, whistle, charged phone and a foil blanket.

The Cooley Half will take place in Cooley-Halbinsel on Saturday 23 May 2026. You can run 22 kilometers.

A mountain race from Flagstaff to Carlingford covering about 16.7 km with roughly 1,050 m ascent. The route is unmarked, GPS is not allowed and Level C kit is mandatory; a coach transfer is available for the first 70 registered athletes.
