ZigZag - Cock-a-doodle Dawdle

ZigZag Cock-a-doodle Dawdle returns for its third year at Hyde Hall Farm, Buntingford, SG9 0RU. The event uses the farm base camp and surrounding grounds, with exclusive use of the main area and open space.

The course is a trail route incorporating some tarmac paths, grassland and trail. The heavy half is a lap format set at five laps as standard with options to change on the day. The ultra is a lap format set at nine laps as standard with the option to increase the number of laps up to twelve according to time available. The event has a six hour cut off; some starts have a shorter four hour cut off.

Practical facilities noted for the event include a water aid station located at the lap point, a baggage area for warm clothing and shoes, and secure on site parking with an attendant to direct vehicles and to the start area for race number collection. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or a lucky dip medal option where available. The event is cupless so participants need to provide their own cups or bottles for refreshment refilling.

A winter trail run supporting Farleigh Hospice near Woodham Ferrers offering 10 km and half marathon routes on grass, tracks and paths, with written route instructions, cupless aid stations and on-site refreshments.

Tackle a crisp 10k winter trail through Essex countryside at Trifarm, with over 95 percent off road paths and bridleways. Enjoy a friendly small field, on site parking, and post run treats plus optional swim and sauna at the venue.
