Cock-a-doodle Dawdle

Cock-a-doodle Dawdle is scheduled for 26 June 2027 at Hyde Hall Farm, Buntingford, SG9 0RU. The event returns for its third year at this exclusive, self-contained venue and uses the farm base camp and surrounding grounds.

The course is a 5.3 km loop inside the estate. The surface is mainly trail with some tarmac paths and areas of grassland. The route is clearly lap based, with a lap point that includes a water and aid station.

Participants may choose from a range of distances:

  • 5 km - 1 lap
  • 10 km - 2 laps
  • 15 km - 3 laps
  • Half marathon - standard 5 laps, option to change to 6 or 7 laps on the day
  • Full marathon - lap count according to distance
  • Ultra marathon - standard 9 laps, with the possibility to increase up to 12 laps

Event cut-offs are either six hours or four hours depending on the chosen start arrangement. Parking is included and secure on site with a parking attendant to direct vehicles and assist with access to the start area and number collection. There is a baggage area for warm clothing and shoes. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or, where available, a lucky dip medal option. The event is cupless so participants should bring bottles or cups for refilling.
