Cock-a-doodle Dawdle

Cock-a-doodle Dawdle returns for its third year at Hyde Hall Farm in Buntingford, SG9 0RU. The event uses the farm base camp and the surrounding grounds, with exclusive use of the main area and open space for participants.

Distances offered cover a range of standard race lengths, including:

  • 5k
  • 10k
  • Half Marathon
  • Full Marathon
  • Ultra Marathon

Lap formats are used for longer distances. A heavy half marathon is set as five laps by default with options to change to six or seven laps on the day. The ultra marathon is set as nine laps by default with the possibility to increase to up to twelve laps, subject to time availability. The event has a six hour cut off; a four hour cut off may apply to some start options.

The course is a trail event that includes some tarmac paths and grassland. There is a water aid station located at the lap point. Parking is included and secure on site, with an attendant to direct vehicles and to assist with locating the start and collecting race numbers. A baggage area is provided. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal or, where available, a lucky dip medal selection. The event is cupless so participants need cups or bottles for refreshment refilling.
