Wood You Rather
Forest Park, United States • 16 May 2026
Wood You Rather is a unique checkpoint-style trail race held in Mt. Tabor Park, Portland. There is no pre-set course: at the start you’re given a map with ten highlighted checkpoints and you choose the order to visit them, deciding which trails to take to reach each point.
Runners typically cover about 7.5 to 11 miles with 1,200–1,600 feet of gain within a 2.5-hour window, finishing back at the finish line. Participants can run solo or as a 3–6 person team; teams are scored by average time and the fewest checkpoints found by any member. Finisher mugs are awarded, with top male, female, non-binary, and team prizes, plus donuts and coffee. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
