Forest Park, United States • 16 May 2026

Event overview

Wood You Rather is a checkpoint run held on May 16, 2026, at Mt. Tabor Park in Portland, OR. Runners receive a map at the start showing highlighted checkpoints and choose their own routes on the park trails. Participants have two hours to visit as many checkpoints as they can and return to the finish. Distance varies by chosen route; participants can expect roughly 5 to 8+ miles with about 800–1000+ feet of elevation gain. The field capacity is 200. Each finisher receives a Wood You Rather mug; coffee and donuts are provided at the finish. The organizers note that a compass is optional and the map shows marked trails.

Format, scoring and policies

The event accepts solo entries and teams of three to six people. Team results are calculated by averaging team members’ times; a team’s checkpoint total is the lowest number collected by any team member. If any team member does not finish within the allotted time, the entire team is recorded as a Did Not Finish (DNF). Children 12 and under may race free when registered and must run alongside a registered parent or guardian. There are no transfers or refunds; cancellations more than 30 days before the race receive a 50% credit toward a future Go Beyond Racing event, and cancellations 30 days or less before the race receive no credit.
