Crown Stub 100
Buxton, United States • 4-5 Apr 2026
Event Details
The Crown Stub 100 is an ultramarathon event held at Stub Stewart State Park in Oregon. It is scheduled for April 4, 2026. The event features a 100-mile solo ultra marathon and a two-person ultra relay team event.
Course Information
The race uses a double out-and-back course starting and finishing at the Hill Top Day Use Area within the park. The course traverses a combination of paved asphalt on the Banks Vernonia State Trail, hard-packed gravel on the Crown Zellerbach Trail, and approximately 10% dirt single-track trails within the park itself. The total elevation gain is over 7,000 feet.
Runners head north from the start on the Banks Vernonia Trail, proceed around Vernonia Lake, and then run east on the Crown Zellerbach Trail for roughly twenty miles before turning around. The course passes through ancestral tribal lands of the Chinook near Scappoose. Runners retrace their steps back towards the park, then head south on the Banks Vernonia Trail to Banks before returning. The final section after mile 92 involves a turn onto the Boomscooter Trail and a final 6.5-mile lap on the Stub Stewart Trail Challenge course before the finish.
Support and Logistics
There will be 13 aid station stops along the course. Four stations (Stewarts Gate and Vernonia) are full-service, offering items like burgers, grilled cheese, and quesadillas. Other stations provide typical aid station food like chips, pickles, and PB&J. Hydration and nutrition will be provided in partnership with Skratch Labs.
Runners are allowed two drop bags, accessible at the Stewarts Gate and Vernonia aid stations. Crew access is described as very friendly, with multiple opportunities for support along the course. Pacers are allowed starting at the Pisgah Aid Station (mile 40). The event has a 32-hour time limit, with a finish line closure at 8:00 PM on Sunday, April 5. There is also a cutoff at the Stewarts Gate aid station at 1:00 PM on Sunday.
Ultra Relay Information
The two-person ultra relay team division covers the entire 100-mile course. Team members must switch at every designated exchange point. The relay has a 30-hour time limit, starting at 2:00 PM on race day. Teams may have a driver or "squire" to assist, but contact is only permitted at the exchange points, not at aid stations. Relay runners are welcome to use all aid station amenities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
