Stumptown Trail Runs 50K & Half Marathon

Stumptown Trail Runs takes place over Memorial Day weekend in Forest Park, Portland. The event offers two trail running distances across the park's network of trails and rolling hills. Forest Park covers about 5,100 acres and has over 80 miles of trails in the Tualatin Mountains near the city.

The two distances are:

  • 50K including the Wildwood Trail; almost 4,000' elevation gain.
  • Half Marathon with about 1,800' of elevation gain and loss.

The 50K route includes the Wildwood Trail and additional, lesser known paths deeper in the park. Both races are organized as running events rather than walking events. Each distance has a capacity of 200 entrants. Both races benefit the Forest Park Conservancy.

After the finish, finishers receive a Stumptown pint glass. Food is provided at the post race gathering with burgers listed for 50K finishers and grilled cheese and soup listed for half marathon finishers. Awards are given to the top three male, female, and non binary finishers and to 1st through 3rd in ten year age groups. Parking is on neighborhood streets and there is no parking at aid stations.
