Stumptown Trail Runs
Stumptown Trail Runs stage trail races in Portland’s Forest Park over the Memorial Day weekend. The event includes two running distances and uses portions of the Wildwood Trail along with lesser-known park paths inside the Tualatin Mountains.
Forest Park is a large urban forest with thousands of acres and many miles of trails, and the routes traverse municipal forest terrain and hilly singletrack.
Distances offered
- 50K with almost 4,000' of elevation gain.
- Half marathon with about 1,800' of combined gain and loss.
The 50K is noted as Portland’s only 50K. Both races are running events and are not set up as walking races. Runners receive a finisher pint glass and the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers receive sponsor prizes; age group awards are given in ten-year categories. After the race, participants are provided food and drink; additional meals for guests are available for a fee.
Registration has tiered pricing and optional merchandise. Wait lists open when distances sell out. There are no bib transfers and no refunds; cancellations more than 30 days before the race receive a 50 percent credit toward a future event, no credit is issued for cancellations within 30 days. Both races benefit the Forest Park Conservancy. Volunteer roles support bib pickup, aid stations, start and finish, and on-trail assistance.
Parking is on neighborhood streets, parking can be limited, and there is no spectator parking at aid stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
