Buxton, United States • 5 Apr 2026

Event Information

The Stub Stewart Trail Challenge takes place at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park. The event offers four distances: a Quarter Marathon, a Half Marathon, a Three Quarter Marathon, and a Marathon.

Course Details

The race uses a single 6.5-mile loop course. Participants can choose to finish after one, two, three, or four loops. The route is varied, transitioning from the paved Banks-Vernonia Trail to unpaved roads and includes rolling hills and tougher climbs. The event will be held on April 5, 2026, starting at the Hilltop Day-Use Area.

Runners must bring their own drinking vessel, as the event is cupless. There will be two aid stations on the course. Packet pick-up opens at the Hilltop Day-Use Area Shelter.

Additional Notes

Parking at the Hilltop Day-Use Area requires a daily park permit fee per vehicle. All finishers receive a finisher's mug. Awards are given to the top male and female finishers for each distance. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
