Hagg Mud 50K/25K

Event overview

The Hagg Mud race takes place at Henry Hagg Lake in Scoggins Valley Park near Gaston, Oregon. The event offers two distances and runs on single-track trails and short road sections around the lake. Registration includes aid stations, a post-race food and drink service, a complimentary parking voucher, covered bag drop (bring your own bag), and warming/changing tents at the finish. The event is cupless; participants must bring a handheld, hydration pack, or reusable cup for aid station refills.

Courses and cutoffs

The 50K follows a counterclockwise loop around the lake twice and includes a short gravel out-and-back with the largest elevation change of the course. The 25K follows the same general route but completes one lake loop with a few short road sections. Aid stations for the 50K are located near the Dam, Fenders Blue, and the start/finish, with specific mile markers provided by the organizers. The 50K requires an average pace near 17:10 per mile; the 25K allows about 7.5 hours to complete the roughly 15.5 mile course (an average pace near 29:00 per mile). Walkers are not allowed in the 50K due to cutoff requirements.

Awards, access and other notes

Awards are given to the top three finishers in each gender division: female, male, and nonbinary. All finishers receive custom finisher socks. The race partners with a fund to provide entry fee assistance for underrepresented groups and maintains a gender inclusion and fair sport policy that accepts the gender selection made at registration.
