Hagg Mud 50K/25K
The Hagg Mud 50K/25K is a trail running event held around Henry Hagg Lake in Scoggins Valley Park near Gaston, Oregon. The event offers two race distances and uses single-track trails around the lake with some short road and gravel sections. A notable gravel out-and-back near Sain Creek Pavilion provides the largest elevation change on the courses. Much of each lap includes muddy, single-track trail run counterclockwise around the lake.
- 50K: two laps around Hagg Lake
- 25K: one lap around Hagg Lake
The event includes multiple aid stations positioned around the loop. The race operates as CUPLESS, so runners must bring their own handhelds, hydration packs, or reusable cups for refills; aid stations will provide pitchers and rapid-fill spigots. Registration fees cover three well-stocked aid stations, post-race food and drinks, a parking voucher, bag drop (bring your own bag), and warming/changing tents at the finish. Day-of registration and purchases are available with cashless payment.
Prizes are awarded to the top three finishers in each gender division (female, male, non-binary), and all finishers receive custom finisher socks. The event recognizes the ancestral lands of the Kalapuya, Clatskanie, and Atfalati peoples. Recent trail relocation due to bridge damage has prompted trail work parties in the lead-up to the race; dates for trail work were announced.
