Autumn Leaves 50M/50K/30K
The Autumn Leaves 50/50 is an annual running event held in Champoeg State Park near St. Paul, Oregon. The course follows a 10 km loop that showcases the fall colors of red and yellow maples along the Willamette River. The terrain consists of 80% paved bike path and 20% dirt single track. The course is largely flat with some small rolling sections and is manageable in road shoes.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 50 miles (8 loops)
- 50 km (50,000 m) (5 loops)
- 30 km (3 loops)
- Free Kids Run
The event is cupless, requiring participants to bring their own hydration packs, handheld bottles, or silicone cups. There are two aid stations located along the course providing sweet and salty food, which runners pass three times during each loop. A covered drop bag area is available at the start and finish for personal nutrition and gear.
Support crews can access runners at the start and finish area and at a mid-course aid station near Oak Grove. Pacers are permitted for the later stages of the longer distances; 50 km runners may have a pacer for the final two loops, while 50 mile runners may have one for the final three loops. Awards are presented to the top three finishers in various categories, including a prize for the runner displaying the best spirit or costume.
