Autumn Leaves 50M/50K/30K
Autumn Leaves is an annual October race at Champoeg State Park in St. Paul, Oregon. The event offers multiple distances and runs on a 10K loop that follows the Willamette River and passes nearby park campsites and yurts.
Distances:
- 30K
- 50K
- 50 miles
The 10K loop is about 80 percent paved bike path and 20 percent dirt single track. The course is described as very flat with some small rollers. The 50K consists of five loops and the 50 mile event consists of eight loops; the 30K is three loops with a later start. The route is typically runnable in road shoes. Runners should plan to use a headlamp for the first lap because it will be dark.
There are two aid stations on the course, passed multiple times each loop, offering typical ultra fare. The race is cupless so participants must bring their own hydration vessels. A covered bag drop and portapotties are available at the start and finish area, with an additional potty midway on the course. Support crew can access the start finish area and a mid course aid station near Oak Grove.
Pacers are allowed for the final laps of the 50K and 50 mile events with a waiver and pacer bib; pacers may not carry supplies for runners. Park entrance fees are not included in registration. The event includes awards by gender and masters categories and a free kids run with pre registration required. ORRC offers a Pay It Forward fund for race credits and maintains a gender inclusion policy for divisions and awards. Registration for 2026 is not yet open.
