Autumn Leaves 50M/50K/30K - Champoeg State Park
Autumn Leaves is an annual October ultrarunning event held at Champoeg State Park in St. Paul, Oregon, with a course that follows the Willamette River and passes nearby park campsites. The event includes multiple timed distance options and a free kids run that requires pre registration.
The course uses a 10 k loop made up of approximately 80% paved bike path and 20% dirt single track. The loop is largely flat with some small rollers and is typically runnable in road shoes. A headlamp is required for the first lap because it will be dark.
Distances:
- 30K - three 10 k loops
- 50K - five 10 k loops
- 50 mile - eight 10 k loops
Support and logistics include two aid stations along the course, which participants pass multiple times per loop. The race is cupless, so runners must carry their own cup or use a hydration system and must not litter. A covered bag drop and portable toilets are provided at the start and midpoint. Support crew access is available at the start and mid course aid station near Oak Grove.
Pacers may accompany 50K runners for the last two loops and 50 mile runners for the last three loops; pacers must sign a waiver, wear a pacer bib, may use aid stations, and may not carry supplies for their runner. Awards are given to top finishers across Men, Women and Nonbinary divisions and corresponding masters categories. Park entrance fees are not included in registration and camping at the park is available to participants. Registration for the upcoming year is not yet open; ORRC member discounts and volunteer voucher processing require manual verification.
