Mud Run and Flower Festival

The Mud, Sweat & Blooms event takes place annually on the second Saturday in August at the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn. Previously known as Mud, Sweat & BBQ, this tenth annual edition combines a physical obstacle course with a seasonal flower festival. The event is hosted by the Woodburn Rotary and the Woodburn Rotary Foundation.

The primary athletic event is a 5k mud run. This course is designed for participants of various ages and involves mud-based obstacles set against the backdrop of the farm's active flower fields. Participants can attend as individuals or gather in groups of family and friends to navigate the farm terrain.

In addition to the run, the location hosts a Garden Party that is open to all attendees. This portion of the event focuses on leisure and social interaction within the farm setting. The farm itself provides the layout for both the run and the accompanying festivities.

Financial proceeds from the event activities go toward the charitable initiatives of the Woodburn Rotary. These projects include supporting local families, the Boys and Girls Club, local fire districts, and park developments. Other supported programs include dental clinics for uninsured children and international medical programs. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
