Angry Owl Ultramarathons : Salem, Oregon, August 8–9, 2026

Angry Owl Ultramarathons is a timed running event held in Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The 2026 edition marks the tenth year of the event and includes repeating laps on a new 1.05 mile loop that mixes hard packed dirt, well maintained non technical trail, packed gravel, and some asphalt. The new loop length gives runners an effective extra mile every 20 laps.

Event formats offered:

  • 24 hour timed run
  • 12 hour timed run
  • 6 hour timed run

Timing is chip based and provided by Race Northwest. A single aid station near the start and finish area supplies water, electrolyte drink, fruit, salty snacks, sweet snacks, and additional items; runners may leave personal food near the finish and should bring their own bottle or cup. The start and finish area is adjacent to a small parking lot so vehicles remain accessible during the event. Runners may set up chairs and coolers near the start area as long as they do not impede other park users. The park remains open to the public; spectators may attend and family or friends may join runners for occasional laps but should not plan to accompany participants for the full event.

Each participant receives a cap. No medals will be issued; organizers plan to offer local business goodies for top finishers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
