Angry Owl Ultramarathons

Angry Owl Ultramarathons - August 8-9, 2026

The Angry Owl Ultramarathons returns for its tenth edition at Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon. The event takes place at the southeast end of the park near the Phillips Softball Field, with parking access at 1050 Leffelle St SE, Salem, OR 97302.

The event offers timed looped running events:

• 24-hour timed run
• 12-hour timed run
• 6-hour timed run

The course is a roughly one mile loop (about 1.00625 miles, 33 feet longer than a mile) composed of hard packed dirt, well-maintained non-technical trail, grass, packed gravel, and some asphalt. Timed runners repeat the loop as many times as they can during their chosen event.

Timing is chip based and provided by Race Northwest. A single aid station near the start and finish area will provide water, electrolyte drink, fruit, salty and sweet snacks, and other items. Participants may leave personal food near the finish for easy access and should bring their own bottle or cup.

The start and finish area is adjacent to a small parking lot so vehicles remain accessible during the event. Runners may set up chairs and coolers near that area provided they do not impede others. The park is public and open to spectators; family and friends may join runners for short laps but should not plan to run the entire event. No medals will be issued; each participant receives a cap from the organizers and awards from local businesses are planned for top finishers.
