Wild Hybrid Lake District - Grasmere Solos

The Wild Hybrid event takes place at the Grasmere Sports Ground, situated alongside Grasmere Lake in Cumbria. The location is surrounded by a landscape of fells and mountains. The event center is based at The Showfield on Stock Lane, which serves as the hub for the functional fitness and running components.

Participants can choose from several categories and distances:

  • Wild Hybrid Solo: Features five functional stations, a 1 km run around the sports ground, and a 5 km lap of Grasmere Lake.
  • 5 km Ruck Run: A trail run where participants carry a weighted pack (10 kg for men and 7 kg for women).
  • 10 km Ruck Run: A longer trail run requiring a weighted pack (10 kg for men and 7 kg for women).

For the Ruck Run categories, participants are required to provide their own packs, which are weighed during the registration process. The courses utilize the sports ground, surrounding trail paths, and the perimeter of the lake.

The event features live chip timing provided by Timing Up North. Facilities include on-site parking for a fee, weather permitting, and additional public parking in the vicinity. All finishers receive merchandise and products from event sponsors, and prizes are awarded for the first three positions in each category. The event is open to individuals aged 16 and over.
