Buttermere, United Kingdom • 22 Mar 2026

Course Overview

The Lakeland 100 Recce 3 is an organized familiarisation day covering a specific section of the Montane Lakeland 100 route. The course covers a distance of 33 miles from Buttermere to Dalemain. Participants follow the official race path through Braithwaite, Blencathra, and Dockray.

This event is specifically designed for runners who have already secured a confirmed place in the Lakeland 100 or 50 2026. The purpose of the day is to allow competitors to learn the terrain and meet fellow runners before the main event.

Participation Details

The event takes place at The Old School Room in Buttermere. Registration includes several support services for participants:

  • Coach transport
  • Medical support
  • Basic refreshments at designated checkpoints

Participants must be 18 years or older. There is a mandatory kit requirement as specified by the event organizers for safety. Because this is a timed training event, cut-off times are enforced at checkpoints, and participants are expected to have the fitness level required to meet these durations.

This recce covers a portion of the 100-mile course only and does not overlap with the 50-mile course. Details regarding the schedule and specific logistics are provided to registered participants one week before the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
