The West Yorkshire Winter League (WYWL) is a team and individual trail running series held across West Yorkshire. The season comprises six races staged from November to February. Entry is restricted to fully paid-up, affiliated members of the member clubs, age 17 and over. A single season pass is charged at £20 and covers entry to all six races. Entries close on 31/10/2025. The organiser is the West Yorkshire Winter League.

Course, rules and awards

Races are on trail courses with a hilly profile and are typically one lap of about 5 - 6 miles. Chip timing was introduced in 2024/25. Courses are not suitable for wheelchairs. Facilities at events include toilets only; there are no water stations, distance markers, changing facilities, showers or baggage storage.

Competitors must be affiliated to England Athletics or British Triathlon and must belong to a member club. The league lists 16 member clubs and includes one guest club this year. Rules specify no headphones and no dogs on course. Competitors enter at their own risk; organisers state no refunds, deferrals or transfers. Awards include individual top-three positions by sex and by age categories (open, 35, 40 and every five years thereafter) and team awards for male, female, vets (35+) and super vets (50+) plus overall teams. Guest clubs are not eligible for team awards. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
