Event overview
The Ute 100 takes place in the La Sal Mountains, Utah on August 8-9, 2026. The event offers three distances:
- 100 mile
- 50 mile
- 50k
The 100-mile course is a single-loop that circumnavigates the La Sals. The course has an average elevation above 8,700 ft and roughly 24,000 ft of elevation gain and loss. The 50-mile option is one loop of the 100-mile course. The 50k route remains unchanged from the previous year.
Course, aid stations and support
The route includes single-track trails, technical scree above tree-line, river crossings, and varied dirt roads. Aid stations are described as well stocked and will offer Tailwind, Muir Energy gels, fruit, sweet and salty snacks, and warm food such as bacon, quesadillas, potatoes, and pierogis. Several aid stations accept drop bags and have crew access; some aid stations are water-only.
Logistics
The start/finish and parking are located off La Sal Loop Road near the junction of Miners Basin Road. The drive from Moab to the start/finish is about 30 miles and takes approximately 50 minutes. Camping options near the venue include Mason Draw Campground (about 1 mile away, five first-come sites, $10/night, no water) and Warner Lake campground (about 11 miles away, elevation 9,400 ft, 19 sites). Crew-accessible aid stations are reachable by 2WD and low-clearance vehicles. Pacers are allowed at specified crew-accessible aid stations and must sign a waiver before beginning pacing duties.
