Arches Marathon and Half
Arches Marathon and Half is a fall trail running event in Moab, Utah, held on October 3, 2026. Distances offered include:
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
- 15K
Runners start near the Behind the Rocks Wilderness Study Area and follow sandy double track and jeep roads that pass Picture Frame Arch and desert meadow trails. The course provides views of the La Sal Mountains, red cliffs, and expansive canyon scenery. The finish line is at the same location as the start.
Course statistics by distance are published; examples include the Half Marathon with a lowest point of 5184', highest point of 5727', elevation gain 1178', and elevation loss 1214'. The Marathon and 50K courses have higher total elevation changes, and the 15K has lower elevation gain. Detailed maps and GPX files are provided for each distance.
Aid stations operate as a cup-less system. Water dispensers are available at the start/finish and at every aid station; runners should bring reusable cups, bottles, or bladders. Packet pickup is held at the start/finish area the day before the race. Event perks include a race shirt, a BOCO trucker hat, and a finisher medal.
