Course and logistics
Courses run on sandy double track, jeep roads, and desert meadow trails with views of red cliffs, canyon panoramas, and the La Sal Mountains. Course statistics provided include elevations and elevation change:
- 50K: lowest 4516 ft, highest 5726 ft, elevation gain 2979 ft, elevation loss 2979 ft
- Marathon: lowest 4516 ft, highest 5726 ft, elevation gain 2644 ft, elevation loss 2657 ft
- Half Marathon: lowest 5184 ft, highest 5727 ft, elevation gain 1178 ft, elevation loss 1214 ft

Aid stations are cupless; runners must use a reusable cup, bladder, or bottle to collect fluids. Free camping is available at the Mad Moose Base Camp for participants and their family or crew. Runners receive a race shirt, a BOCO trucker hat, and a finisher medal. Packet pickup occurs the day before and on race morning at the start/finish area.
