Petzl Tunnel Vision Night and Dawn Runs

Petzl Tunnel Vision takes place on Thursday 5th and Friday 6th November 2026 and comprises two separate events: a Night Run and a Dawn Run. Participants may enter one or both races.

The event is an out and back running race of 5 miles that passes through the Oxendon Tunnel, a 422 m long former railway tunnel. The tunnel will have mood lighting but participants must use a headtorch or small handheld torch. The route is on hard packed track suitable for road or trail shoes, though the tunnel surface has ruts and puddles.

Entry requirements and logistics are specified in advance. The minimum age for competitors is 14 years. Entry fees are £23 for a single race and £40 for both. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Early collection of race numbers, timing chips, and pre-ordered t-shirts is available on Wednesday 4th November at Harborough Leisure Centre between 6 and 8 pm; remaining allocations are made at registration on race day and a race pack is emailed the week of the event. The start is located off Scotland Road behind Protheroes garage and is signposted from Northampton Road. Free parking is available at the nearby Leisure Centre (LE16 9HF).

Medical cover and race volunteers will be in place on course, at the tunnel entrance, and at the turn-around point. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. All finishers receive a specially commissioned medal; medals interlink for those completing both runs. Finishers of the Night Run receive a hot drink and biscuits; Dawn Run finishers receive orange juice and a croissant. Race t-shirts and hoodies can be pre-ordered up to three weeks before the event and will not be sold on race day. Free digital race photos are provided after the event. The event offers entrants the opportunity to donate to local foodbanks supported by the organisers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
