Petzl Tunnel Vision Night and Dawn Runs

Petzl Tunnel Vision is a paired night and dawn event in Market Harborough featuring an out and back running race of five miles that passes through the Oxendon Tunnel. The tunnel is 422 m long; mood lighting will be installed but participants must use a headtorch or small handheld torch because sections of the tunnel have ruts and puddles.

Entries are priced at £23 for a single race and £40 for both. The minimum age for competitors is 14 and entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Pre-event collection of race numbers, timing chips and pre-ordered t-shirts is available at Harborough Leisure Centre on the day before the races during a specified evening slot; all other allocations will be made at on-site registration.

The course surface is hard packed track, suitable for road or trail shoes. Professional first aid will be available at the start and finish with access to runners on course, and Race Harborough volunteers will be positioned at the tunnel entrance and the turn-around point.

A Petzl representative will be present to discuss and demonstrate headlamps. Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers. All finishers receive a commissioned event medal; medals from both races interlink. Finishers receive refreshments specific to each race. Free digital race photos will be made available after the event. The event supports local foodbanks and offers entrants an opportunity to donate.
