Tunnel Vision : Market Harborough

Tunnel Vision is an out and back, five mile running event held on Brampton Valley Way, off Scotland Road in Market Harborough. The event offers two separate races, a Night Run and a Dawn Run, and participants may enter one or both.

Both routes pass through the Oxendon Tunnel, a 422 m former railway tunnel. The tunnel will have mood lighting only, so participants must use a head torch or small handheld torch to run through it. The path is a hard packed track suitable for road or trail shoes; the tunnel surface has ruts and puddles that may affect footing.

The minimum age for competitors is 14 years. Entries and transfers close seven days before the event. Pre-collected race numbers, timing chips, and pre-ordered race t-shirts can be collected at Harborough Leisure Centre the day before the event; all remaining items are allocated on race day at registration.

On-course support includes professional first aid at the start and finish with access to the course, and volunteers positioned at the tunnel entrance and the turn-around point. Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers. All finishers receive a commissioned event medal; medals from the two races interlink for those who complete both.

Refreshments are provided after each race, and free digital race photos are available. The event supports local foodbanks as its 2026 charity focus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
