TrailFest - Salcey Forest

TrailFest - Salcey Forest takes place on Sunday, 28 June 2026 at Salcey Forest (postcode NN7 2HX), a Forestry England site near Northampton. The event offers four distances:

  • 10K
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon
  • 50 km

Course, rules and entry

The routes use similar sections of the forest and follow well maintained pathways. There is no asphalt except two road crossings on the longer routes. Surfaces are mainly crushed stone or trodden forest floor; some grassland sections can be soft when wet. The course will be heavily marked and GPX files are available as a back up. The event is run cupless: aid stations provide no cups, so participants must carry a cup or bottle if they want drink on course. All finishers receive a medal and a choice of Big Bear drink.

Salcey Forest has a café and toilets. Parking is payable on site (about £3.80 to £9). The number 33 bus serves Salcey Forest and the closest train station is Northampton; the site is around nine minutes from M1 Junction 15. Dogs are not allowed. Crew are permitted but pacers may not run alongside except in the final 100 m. Mandatory kit rules vary by distance: a cup or bottle (200 ml minimum) is required for half marathon, marathon and 50 km; 10K entrants have no mandatory kit but are strongly recommended to carry water. The overall event cut-off is 19:00. Entry fees follow a tiered pricing structure with higher fees after 28/06/2026; unaffiliated entrants pay £2 extra.
