TrailFest - Salcey Forest

Northampton, United Kingdom • 28 Jun 2026

Event overview

TrailFest - Salcey Forest is a multi-distance trail running day at Salcey Forest, Northamptonshire on 28 June 2026. The event offers four distances:

  • 10K
  • Half marathon
  • Marathon
  • 50 km

Routes use similar sections of the forest and are mostly on well maintained pathways. There is no asphalt except two road crossings on the longer routes. Surfaces are mainly crushed stone or trodden forest floor, with some grassland sections that may be soft after rain. The organisers moved the event to summer to improve underfoot conditions. Road shoes may be sufficient in typical weather, though a light trail shoe is suggested for the uneven stony surface.

Practical information

The venue is a Forestry England site with a café and toilets; the postcode listed is NN7 2HX. Parking is charged (about £3.80 to £9 at the time of writing). The number 33 bus stops inside the forest and the closest train station is Northampton; the site is about 18 minutes from Northampton and 9 minutes from M1 Junction 15. Dogs are not permitted. The event is cupless - aid stations supply no cups - so participants must carry their own cup or bottle. For half marathon, marathon and 50 km a cup or bottle holding at least 200 ml is mandatory. A foil blanket and charged mobile phone are strongly advised. The event cut-off is 19:00; for the 50 km this equates to an 11 hour limit.
