TrailFest - Salcey Forest
Northampton, United Kingdom • 28 Jun 2026
Event overview
TrailFest - Salcey Forest is a multi-distance trail running day on 28 June 2026 at Salcey Forest, Northamptonshire. Four distances are offered:
- 10K
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km
The organiser describes the day as using similar sections of woodland for each route, with the aim of accommodating a range of experiences. The event operates under a UK Athletics / Trail Running Association license and dogs are not permitted.
Location and course
The event takes place at Salcey Forest, a Forestry England site with a cafe and toilets. The majority of the routes follow well maintained pathways with no asphalt except two road crossings on the longer courses. Surfaces are mainly crushed stone or trodden forest floor; some grass sections can be soft after rain. The organiser notes that road shoes are possible in typical summer conditions, while a light trail shoe may be more suitable.
Entry, kit and logistics
Entry fees vary by distance and increase over time; published prices span a range (approximately £18–£72). Age limits apply: 10K 16+, half marathon 17+, marathon 18+, 50K 21+. The event is cupless - there are no cups at aid stations, so participants must carry their own cup or bottle. For half marathon, marathon and 50K a cup or bottle holding at least 200 ml is mandatory. A foil blanket and charged mobile phone are strongly advised. The event has a 19:00 cut off; the organiser states this allows an 11-hour limit for the 50 km. Finishers receive a medal and a choice of Big Bear drink. GPX files for the routes are provided as a backup; the course will be heavily marked on the day.
