- 10K
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- 50 km
Entry is tiered by date with published prices: 10K £20/£25, half marathon £35/£40, marathon £51/£56, 50 km £62/£72. Unaffiliated entrants pay an extra £2. The event has age minimums for each distance.
Course and logistics
Routes use similar sections of the forest and are mostly on well maintained paths of crushed stone or trodden forest floor. There is no asphalt except two road crossings on the longer routes. The organisers moved the event to summer to improve underfoot conditions. If conditions are typical for the season, road shoes may be used but light trail shoes are recommended for the uneven stony surface.
Parking at the site is paid parking (around £3.80 to £9 at the time of writing). The number 33 bus stops inside the forest and the nearest train station is Northampton. The site has a café and toilets.
Rules, kit and finish
The event is cupless - there are no cups at aid stations. Mandatory kit differs by distance: 10K has no mandatory kit though a cup or bottle is recommended; half marathon, marathon and 50 km require a cup or bottle holding at least 200 ml. A foil blanket and a charged mobile phone are strongly advised. Missing mandatory items may incur time penalties. The event cut-off is 19:00. All finishers receive a medal and a choice of Big Bear drink. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
