The event offers timed running formats: 12HR Individual, 12HR 4 Person Relay, 6HR Individual, and 3 Hour. A relay team option is available for either a 2-person or a 4-person team.

Course & Venue

The run takes place at a 58-acre park in Chicago, IL. Participants run a 1-mile paved loop path around the park for their allotted time. The start and finish point features a single aid station stocked with typical ultra-running food and drinks. A vendor at the park also sells a wide variety of ultra-running treats.

Event Features

A unique feature called "The Nonsense" introduces a new challenge at the top of every hour, which runners must complete during that hour.

The organizer, the Curious Ultrarunner’s Secret Society, aims to build community and inject whimsy into running. The event has a focus on inclusion, offering free entries for BIPOC and LGBTQ+ athletes as an affirmation of belonging. The registration policy accepts each entrant’s declared gender at face value and provides a process for non-binary athletes to specify their pronouns after registration.
