The Palos Park Spooky Shuffle takes place Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Swallow Cliff South Forest Preserve in Palos Park, Illinois. The event offers trail distances:

Registration includes tiered fees and is open through October 17, 2025. Registrants must be entered by October 1, 2025 to be guaranteed a race shirt size and finisher medal. The event is adopting reusable Race Day Cups in race bags to reduce single-use waste.
Course, logistics and awards
Both courses use the Sag Valley Trail System and mostly unpaved, mostly gravel trails with ravines and hills. The 5K is an out-and-back with a loop at the Horsetail Lake turnaround and follows a combination of Brown, Yellow, Willow Spring Road, McCarthy Road and Black trails. The 10K follows similar trails, includes a loop through Forty Acre Woods and a road crossing at 119th, and has steeper inclines and declines with possible loose gravel. Packet pick-up is at the Palos Park Recreation Center on Friday, October 17 (noon-7pm) and there is day-of packet pick-up and registration beginning on race day. Race day parking is at Swallow Cliff South off LaGrange Road; overflow parking will be at Forty Acre Woods with a quarter-mile walk or shuttle to the start. Awards include top overall male and female and 1st–3rd in co-ed age groups (18 & under; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+). A course sweeper begins walking each course 15 minutes after its start.
