Run Through the Danada Forest Preserve

The Naperville Trails Half Marathon & 10k takes place in Wheaton, Illinois. The event features two primary distances on USATF certified courses:

  • Half Marathon
  • 10 km

The route is primarily set on the crushed limestone trails of the Danada Forest Preserve. It is described as a flat and fast course that concludes with a finish around a grass horse race track. For the half marathon, a pacer team is available to help participants reach specific goal times ranging from 1:30:00 to 2:45:00.

Participants receive commemorative gear, with a choice between a cotton-poly t-shirt or an optional ladies-fit tank top. All finishers earn a medal designed with imagery reflecting the forest preserve. Awards are also presented to the top three male and female participants in various age categories, ranging from 10 & under to 70+.

Event logistics include chip-timing for all runners. Facilities such as a gear check and water stations serving water and sports drinks are located along the course. Limited on-site parking is available at the DuPage County Forest Preserve District Headquarters, with additional off-site parking serviced by a shuttle bus. This event also serves as a fundraiser for Special Olympics Illinois and is a part of the Run Chicagoland Race Series. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
