Thunder Chicken 100K Stage Races

The Thunder Chicken 100K Stage Races take place Friday April 30 through Sunday May 2, 2027 at Greensfelder County Park, Beulah Shelter, 4515 Hencken Road, Wildwood, MO 63069. The event is presented as St. Louis's only three day trail running stage race and runs across multiple nearby park systems.

Over three days participants run distinct stages through Rockwoods Reservation, Rockwoods Range, and Greensfelder park systems. The courses include winding singletrack, sustained climbs and descents, several creek crossings, scenic vistas and bluffs, and stretches of dense forest. The format spreads roughly 100 kilometers of trail across consecutive days, creating a multi day endurance format rather than a single continuous race.

Distances and stage names:

  • Stage 1 - 21-ish Mi - Tour de Rockwoods Range
  • Stage 2 - 26-ish Mi - Tour de Rockwoods Reservation
  • Stage 3 - 25K-ish - Tour de Greensfelder

The event page notes a Trail Mix Fund that can waive registration fees for runners who cannot afford entry and for people who identify as BIPOC or LGBTQ+. Race reports and photo galleries from past editions are referenced for additional context. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
