Rockin' Rockwoods 53K and 1/2 Marathon
The 12th annual Rockin' Rockwoods trail races take place in Greensfelder County Park, Wildwood, Missouri, with the start and finish at Muckerman Shelter on September 26, 2026. The event presents three simultaneous trail distances:
- 53K
- 1/2 Marathon
- 13.1 Ruck
The courses run along the Green Rock Trail and are mostly singletrack. Terrain includes hard pack dirt, loose rock, roots, creek crossings, steep grades, and rolling technical sections. The 53K combines two out-and-back sections with about 5,200 feet of elevation gain. The 1/2 Marathon and RUCK are an out-and-back with about 2,200 feet of elevation gain. Runners should expect approximately 95% singletrack and technical footing.
Four manned aid stations provide water, electrolyte drinks, gels, snacks, basic first aid, and volunteers. Aid stations are spaced at roughly 5.5 miles apart with no leg greater than about 7.5 miles. The overall time limit for the events is ten hours; specific aid-station cutoffs are enforced on the course.
This event is part of the Trail Mix Fund partnership, which covers registration fees for some runners who cannot afford them. The race follows a cup-free, zero-waste approach; participants must bring their own drinking receptacle and mess kit. Registration guarantees a custom cotton/poly hoodie if received by August 23, 2026; later registrants receive alternative swag. All medals and swag must be picked up at the finish and will not be mailed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
