The Labor Day Slay at Queeny Park

The Labor Day Slay is a trail running and rucking event held at Queeny Park in St Louis, Missouri on September 5, 2026. Races start from Racers Village at the Smith Pavilion and follow shady, rolling park trails on a fully marked and color coded course.

Distances offered:

  • 5K
  • 10K
  • 10K Ruck
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

Each distance uses laps on the same course: the 5K is one lap, the 10K and 10K Ruck are two laps, and the half marathon is four laps. Participants cross a timing mat each lap for split times. Aid station access is available every lap at approximately 3.25 miles. The 10K Ruck requires a ruck sack; the event specifies a 20 lb sack for body weight 150 or less and a 30 lb sack for body weight 151 and higher, with a scale available on site. Heavier loads are permitted but lighter loads are not eligible for awards.

The event provides professional chip timing, race medals, custom finisher items, a commemorative shirt and a race backpack. Podium awards are given to the top three in each age group (1-13, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+). Free race photos and finish line video are offered, and the first 30 ruck participants receive a commemorative sew on patch. Registration fees are listed per event.
