Get Your Butt Kicked at Route 66
This is a timed loop event held at Route 66 State Park near Eureka, MO. The event offers two race durations: 3 hours and 6 hours. The primary course is a measured 2.425-mile loop through the wooded northwest corner of the park. When runners cannot complete another full long loop, they may switch to a short loop of 0.333 miles; final distance equals completed long loops multiplied by 2.425 miles plus completed short loops multiplied by 0.333 miles.
The loop follows a wide path of thin pavement, chip-n-seal, and fine gravel, providing a generally flat surface. The Forest Shelter serves as the main aid station and will provide Ultra-Food. This is a cupless event; water is available from jugs at the aid station for refilling personal hydration systems. Participants are required to use their own hydration system and to carry a headlamp or other lights for running after dark.
Facilities include two unisex flush toilets on course and two porta-potties. Parking is available at the Forest Shelter, Dogwood Shelter, and near the Times Beach Memorial Playground. The park is accessed from I-44 at exit 265 for eastbound traffic; westbound traffic can use exit 264 and a U-turn.
Awards include finisher medals for all finishers, overall male and female awards for both durations, and masters (40+) awards in the 6-hour race. All runners receive a pair of custom GYBK Sock Guy socks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
