The Next Loop - Cliff Cave

The Next Loop - Cliff Cave

The event uses a loop course at Cliff Cave Park on the River Bluff Trail. The course follows a clearly marked 3.1 mile (5K) loop that returns each lap to the same central start and finish area, where a fully stocked aid station is located. The route passes wooded hillsides, limestone bluffs, and overlooks of the Mississippi River.

The trail surface is primarily packed dirt with sections of crushed limestone and natural singletrack. Runners will encounter roots, short climbs, and a few technical sections. Elevation changes are more pronounced than on flat park courses, with rolling hills and bluff-side segments that add variety across multiple laps.

The format is loop based: athletes start together, complete one 5K loop at a time, and may choose whether to continue. Every completed loop is recorded and honored, with no cutoffs specified. The loop layout supports in-race refueling and pacing decisions.

Location: Cliff Cave Park, 806 Cliff Cave Rd, St Louis, MO, 63129
