The Next Loop - Cliff Cave
The Next Loop - Cliff Cave is a loop based trail event at Cliff Cave Park held on August 22, 2026. The marked loop measures 3.1 miles (5K) and returns each lap to the same central start and finish area with a fully stocked aid station.
The route follows the River Bluff Trail through wooded hillsides, limestone bluffs, and overlooks of the Mississippi River. Trail surfaces include packed dirt, sections of crushed limestone, and natural singletrack. The course features roots, short climbs, rolling hills, bluff side sections, and a few technical areas.
Athletes start together and complete one 5K loop at a time, choosing whether to continue after each lap. Every completed loop is counted and there are no set cutoffs described. The loop format lets runners manage effort and refuel at the central aid station while building toward longer distances through repeated laps.
