The Summit 200

Frisco, United States • 27 Jul 2026

Course and location

The Summit 200 is a 200-mile non-repetitive loop around Summit County, Colorado, based in Frisco. The route uses hiking trails, recreation paths, forest roads and short sections of pavement, with most of the course on single-track trail and infrequently traveled forest roads. The lowest altitude on the course is above 9,000 feet and some sections approach 12,800 feet. Over the full route runners will gain and lose just under 40,000 feet of elevation. The event is planned to take place on National Forest lands and Summit County lands, subject to permitting.

Race format, support and rules

The field is capped at 100 runners. The race includes 12 full aid stations, 4 sleep stations and drop bags; there are long stretches without aid - up to 29 miles, with an average aid spacing of about 16.7 miles. Crew access is limited and the first crew-accessible location is likely at least 70 miles into the course. The overall cutoff time is 110 hours. Entry requires a prior finish of 100 miles or greater. Runners must carry required gear throughout the event, including a water filter, rainproof jacket or poncho, head covering, long-sleeve jacket, gloves, long pants or tights, an emergency/space blanket or poncho, a wag bag, a whistle and a minimum of 1.5 liters of water carrying capacity. Participants must carry an organizer-provided GPS tracking device and a GPX of the course on a cell phone.

In the event of cancellation runners receive 100% race credit to use for Ultraverse events. The deferral schedule offers decreasing credit closer to race day and deferral credit is valid for three years; there are no refunds. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
