The Summit 200 is a 200-mile, non-repetitive loop around Summit County, Colorado, scheduled for July 27, 2026, with Frisco, CO as the listed location. Course, support and rules
The route is mostly single-track trail and infrequently traveled forest roads, with additional recreational paths, forest roads, and short sections of pavement. The lowest points on course are above 9,000 feet and some sections exceed 12,700 feet. Runners will gain and lose approximately 40,000 feet over the course. Support features include 12 full aid stations, four sleep stations, and drop bags. Some stretches without aid can be as long as 29 miles, with an average aid spacing listed as about 16.7 miles. Crew access is limited; the first crew-accessible area is likely at least 65–70 miles into the route and each runner is allowed one crew vehicle that must fit in a standard parking space.
Mandatory equipment includes a water filter, rainproof jacket or poncho, hood or beanie, long-sleeve jacket, gloves, long pants or tights, an emergency/space blanket or poncho, a whistle, a wag bag, and at least 1.5 liters of water carrying capacity. Organizers provide a GPS tracking device (Garmin inReach) and require a GPX of the course on a phone.
