Event Overview
Run the Rockies Trail Race is a trail running event held in Frisco, Colorado. The event offers three distances: a 5 km, a 10 km, and a half marathon. All races start and finish at the Frisco Nordic Center on Recreation Way.
Course and Location
The course leads runners through the Frisco Peninsula trail network. The trails offer views of Dillon Reservoir and the Ten Mile Range. The terrain includes single-track and dirt road trails. For the 2026 edition, a finish along the Dillon Reservoir lakeshore is planned for all distances. The course is marked with pink flagging and directional arrows, with marshals at key junctions.
Registration and Fees
Registration fees vary by distance and age category (adult 18+ or youth under 18), with an option to include a registration gift. Fees cover a marked course, aid stations, professional chip timing, post-race food, a commemorative gift, and post-race beer for participants 21 and over. Event Details
- Aid stations are provided on the 10 km (two stations) and half marathon (three stations) courses. The 5 km has no aid stations. Stations offer water, hydration mix, fruit, and snacks.
- There is a cut-off time for the 10 km and half marathon races.
- Packet pickup is available the day before and the morning of the race at Slopeside Hall.
- Awards are given to the top three overall male/female finishers in each race and to the first-place winner in various age categories.
- A post-race party with food and music is held on the Slopeside Hall plaza.
- The event takes place on public trails shared with other users. Participants are asked to be respectful, and strollers and pets are not permitted.
