Arrowhead Half Marathon & 5K

The Arrowhead Half Marathon & 5K takes place in the scenic surroundings of Arrowhead, Bachelor Gulch, and Beaver Creek Ski Resorts. The event features two distinct trail running distances:

  • 21.4 km (13.3 miles)
  • 5.6 km (3.5 miles)

The half marathon course is a loop that includes approximately 2,844 feet of elevation gain. This route consists of 78% single-track trails and 22% dirt or gravel roads. Participants traverse through aspen groves and climb to the summit of Bachelor Gulch Mountain, reaching a high point of 9,560 feet. The course uses several local trails, including Quiver, Village to Village, Bachelor Loop, and Arrowhead Mountain Trail. There are three aid stations along the half marathon route, which runners pass multiple times for a total of five access points.

The 5K event is a point-to-point course starting at The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch and finishing in Arrowhead Village. This route is primarily downhill, with 937 feet of elevation loss and 223 feet of gain. The terrain is 80% single track and 20% dirt trails, utilizing the Ridge Rider Loop, Bachelor Loop, Ute Trail, and Dakota Trail. No aid stations are located on the 5K course.

The event is a papercup-less race, and participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration devices. Post-race amenities include donuts, fruit, sandwiches, and refreshments at the finish line in Arrowhead Village.
