Vail Berry Picker Trail Run

The Vail Berry Picker is a mountain trail race that starts near Gondola One in Vail Village and finishes at Mid-Vail. The marked course follows singletrack and doubletrack trails, primarily ascending Berry Picker Trail before turning onto Lower Fireweed and the Mountain Access Road to the finish.

The course distance is approximately 6.9 km (4.3 miles) with an elevation gain of about 2,013 feet. Recorded course grades include a maximum uphill grade of +20.5 percent and downhill sections to -6.8 percent. An aid station is located roughly 1.9 miles into the climb; water is available at all aid stations and Skratch Hydration Sport Drink is provided at stations.

The event is organized as a minimal waste race; participants are encouraged to use reusable hydration devices or cups. At the finish there are donuts and fresh fruit provided by Northside Kitchen, and custom race t-shirts are distributed at the finish area. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each age group: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Entry categories include individual and youth pricing, with day-of in-person registration available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
