Vail Berry Picker Trail Run

The Vail Berry Picker is a mountain trail race held on August 1, 2026, in Vail, Colorado. The course starts at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village and finishes at Mid-Vail on Vail Mountain.

The route covers approximately 6.9 km (4.3 miles) with about 2,013 feet of elevation gain. Runners encounter singletrack and doubletrack terrain and sustained uphill climbing, with sections that reach steep grades. Course directions include climbs on Berry Picker Trail, a turn onto Lower Fireweed, and a finish via the Mountain Access Road.

There is an aid station listed near mile 1.9 on Berry Picker. Water is provided at aid stations and Skratch Hydration sport drink will be available. The event follows a minimal waste policy and recommends bringing personal hydration devices or reusable cups.

Event services include pre race and day of bib pickup, physical course maps at the race, and post race items such as donuts and fresh fruit from Northside Kitchen and a custom race t shirt. Awards are presented at the finish with prizes to the top three males and females in age groups 19 and under; 20 to 29; 30 to 39; 40 to 49; 50 to 59; 60 to 69; and 70 and over. A three-day Leadville training camp (June 19-21, 2026) with guided day and night runs, course sections, expert discussions, on-course nutrition, and event swag; minimum age 17 and general registration is sold out.

Trail races at Creekside Park in Beaver Creek on June 20, 2026 feature 10K and 5K courses plus a kids fun run. New course routes will be marked and aid stations provide water and Skratch hydration.

Four Colorado mountain events include four half marathons and a 25K across June to September 2026, totaling 67.9 miles. The series is coordinated by HAL Sports with nonprofit organizers supporting local youth programs.

A high altitude trail marathon and 15.46 mile Heavy Half through Leadville’s historic mining district, topping out at 13,185 feet on Mosquito Pass. General registration is sold out and a waitlist is available.
