Vail Berry Picker Trail Run

The Vail Berry Picker is a trail running event held in Vail, Colorado on August 1, 2026. The course begins at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village and finishes at Mid-Vail, following singletrack and doubletrack terrain up Berry Picker Trail and connecting trails.

Course statistics from the event file list the distance as 6.9 km (4.3 miles) with an elevation gain of 2,013 feet, a low point near 8,279 feet and a high point near 10,154 feet. The route includes sustained climbing with an average grade of about 14 percent and a maximum reported grade of +20.5 percent.

An aid station is located at mile 1.9 on the Berry Picker climb. Water will be available at all aid stations and Skratch Hydration Sport Drink will be provided. The series follows a minimal waste policy and encourages use of reusable hydration devices. At the finish, racers are offered donuts and fresh fruit from Northside Kitchen and may collect a race t-shirt.

Awards are given at Mid-Vail with prizes for the top three male and female finishers in age groups including 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Spectators may access the finish by gondola; dogs are not allowed on the gondola. Parking is available in the Vail Village or Lionshead parking structures.
