The Byers Peak Stampede takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in Fraser, Colorado (1741 Co Hwy 73, Fraser, CO 80442). The event includes two distances:

Event details
Both courses use unpaved roads and trails. The half marathon course is almost entirely on dirt roads and trails, beginning at approximately 8,700 ft and rising above 9,500 ft. Aid stations on the half marathon course provide water, sports drink, and fruit. The 5K course runs on dirt roads near the High Country Stampede Rodeo grounds; an aid station will be available at the finish area. The half marathon includes a time limit with a mile-based cutoff.
All proceeds benefit the Shining Stars Foundation; the foundation provides over 65 programs at no cost to children and families affected by cancer. The event meets criteria set by the American Trail Running Association (ATRA) for safety, organization, and environmental care. Dogs are permitted on leash. Packet pick-up and a pre-race gathering are scheduled for Friday, August 21 at Vicious Cycle Brewing in Fraser. Pricing is tiered for each distance with higher rates close to race day.
