Course
The race is a point-to-point mountain course that begins at Winter Park Resort and finishes in Winter Park. The route immediately moves onto singletrack through alpine terrain, including evergreens and aspen groves, and climbs steadily on smooth, runnable trail with views of the Continental Divide. The course includes flowing singletrack, rugged mountain trail, and stretches of dirt road. The route features climbs and descents and transitions from forested trail into a steady descent into town.
Logistics
This is a high-altitude mountain event. Temperatures can be in the 30s at the summit and reach the upper 70s in town, so conditions may vary. Aid stations are located throughout the course and generally offer electrolyte drink, gels, chews and bars, assorted fruits, soda, sweets and salty snacks, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Runner care at aid stations includes basic first aid and blister care, bug spray, sunscreen, lubrication for chafing, and feminine products. All finishers will receive a finisher award.
