Event Overview

The Shippey Endurance Runs is a multi-distance trail ultra-marathon held at the Beaumont Scout Reservation in High Ridge, Missouri. The event takes place over two days in January. The trail system is not normally open to the public for running.

Distances and Course

The event offers seven distances, run on different days.

The course direction alternates each year, running clockwise in odd-numbered years and counterclockwise in even-numbered years. The terrain includes steep climbs, ridgeline running, descents, creek bottoms, and jeep roads. Approximately 75% is single or double track, with 25% jeep roads. The course is described as having significant elevation gain without switchbacks.

The event operates as a cupless race. It is a Trail Sisters approved event.

Logistics and Amenities

The event is based at the Emerson Center. The course is looped, allowing runners to pass the start/finish area and two indoor aid stations every 3 to 5.3 miles. On-site indoor camping is available in the Emerson Center on Friday and Saturday nights as part of registration for some distances, with shower and bathroom access. This is limited to small tents or sleeping bags in a designated area.

A pre-race meal and meeting are held on Friday. The meal is included for 100 Miler and 100K solo runners; others may purchase tickets.

Awards and Items

Finishers and participants receive various items depending on the distance. These include belt buckles for 100 Miler and 100K finishers, a bottle opener for the 40 Miler, medals for the 20 Miler, and performance apparel like gloves, hoodies, or a backpack.
