The Priory 100km Ultra

The Priory 100km Ultra follows the Northumberland coastline, running from near Bamburgh Castle to Tynemouth Priory. The route passes Beadnell Harbour, Dunstanburgh Castle, Craster Village, Warkworth Castle, Seaton Sluice, Whitley Bay and Cullercoats. The course is waymarked and has approximately 2,400 ft of elevation.

The event covers 100 km on trails and is organised as an A-B event, so participants must make their own way to the start. A bag drop is available at registration and bags are taken to the finish. The event is fully supported with five feed stations located at Low Newton, Boulmer, Warkworth Beach, Newbiggin and Blyth. Feed stations will include VOOM Bars, VOOM Hydration, fruit, sweets, chocolate and savoury snacks. There is extensive medical cover and marshals at key points along the route. All runners are tracked and can be dot watched. Mandatory kit requires a backpack containing water or fluids, a charged mobile phone with emergency contacts, food or gels, a headtorch if finishing after 9pm and a lightweight jacket. There is a 24 hour cut off. Finishers receive a metal event medal, exclusive Priory merchandise, and food and hot drinks. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
