Course and logistics

The route includes ascents of Hedgehope Hill and The Cheviot and has a marked water station at the halfway point. The event is timed, uses race bibs, and provides a finisher medal. Marshals will be present on the course and the event is supported by mountain rescue. There is a 3-hour cut-off to reach the halfway point (climb Cheviot and return); participants who meet this cut-off may continue to Hedgehope. Trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, hat and gloves are recommended. Parking in the valley is limited and event stalls operate cash only due to lack of mobile signal. The event may be postponed if snow or ice prevent access to the start location. Dogs are not permitted. Participants may be filmed or photographed; images may be used for promotional purposes.
