The Pendulum 2026 : event overview

The Pendulum 2026 is a trail race held on 22 March 2026 at Langleeford in the Cheviot Hills. The event is organised by Northern Fell Running and Cheviot TRAIL Events. Course, safety and logistics

The route visits Hedgehope Hill and The Cheviot. The course is listed as 11-mile with a total climb of 3689 ft. A cut off time of three hours applies to the halfway point - climb Cheviot and return - after which only competitors who make the cut off may continue to Hedgehope. The event is marshalled, timed and overseen by mountain rescue. A water station is provided at the halfway point and competitors receive a GPX file of the route beforehand. Recommended kit includes trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, hat and gloves. Prizes are given for the first three male and first three female finishers. Event village stalls will be cash only because there is no mobile signal in the valley. Parking is limited and the organisers ask participants to consider car sharing. Dogs are not permitted.
