The Pendulum 2026 is scheduled for 22 March 2026 in Langleeford and is organized by Northern Fell Running Events Ltd. The race distance is 11 miles with a total climb of 3689 ft. Course and logistics

The route visits Hedgehope Hill and The Cheviot, one after the other. There is a water station at the halfway point. Participants will receive a GPX file of the route before the event. The event is a timed race with race bibs and a finisher medal for participants. Prizes are awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female finishers.

Safety and other information

Trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, hat and gloves are recommended. The race is supported and overseen by mountain rescue. A cut-off of three hours applies to the halfway point (climb Cheviot and return); competitors who meet this cut-off may continue to Hedgehope. The valley has limited parking and car sharing is advised. In the event of snow or ice preventing access, the event will be postponed rather than cancelled.
