Course, logistics and rules

The route is waymarked and a GPX file will be provided before the event. There is a water station at the halfway point. The organisers provide marshals, race bibs and timing, finisher medals, and mountain rescue support. A cutoff of 3 hours applies to reach the halfway point (climb The Cheviot and return); those within the cutoff may continue to Hedgehope. Trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, hat and gloves are recommended. Parking in the valley is limited and car sharing is suggested. The event may be postponed if snow or ice prevent access to the start location. Participants may be filmed or photographed and images can be used for promotional purposes. Dogs are not permitted.
