Event Overview

The Pendulum is a fell running race that takes place on March 22, 2026. It is located at Langleeford, at the base of the two highest peaks in the Cheviot Hills.

The Route

The course covers a distance of approximately 11 miles and includes a total ascent of 3,689 feet. The route requires participants to climb both Hedgehope Hill and The Cheviot. A cut-off time of three hours is set for reaching the halfway point.

Race Day Information

The event features registration opening in the morning and a start time in the morning. A GPX file of the route will be provided to participants before race day. A water station is available at the halfway point. The course is marked and marshaled, with mountain rescue support in place.

Participant Requirements

The minimum age for entry is 18 years old. Participants must carry trail shoes, waterproofs, a whistle, a hat, and gloves. Dogs are not allowed at the event. In the event of snow and ice preventing access to the start location, the event will be postponed.

After the Race
