The New Orleans Ultramarathon and Half

The event in New Orleans, LA offers three road race distances with all finishes at Second Line Brewing (433 N Bernadotte St). The course is an open city course with traffic; roads will not be closed and runners must take extra caution at busy intersections. Course navigation uses spray painted arrows, a Strava route, and turn-by-turn instructions.

Distances:

  • 50 Mile
  • 50K
  • Half Marathon (13.1 miles)

Start locations differ by distance: the 50K and 50 Mile begin at Jackson Square (Decatur St) and the Half Marathon begins at Louisiana Running + Walking Co (4153 Canal St). Packet pickup is at Louisiana Running + Walking Co on the day before the race; bibs and swag can also be collected at the finish for those unable to attend pickup. Drop bags are allowed and will be available at the 50K finish.

Aid stations are staffed and stocked with hydration, gels, basic first aid, snacks, sunscreen, and some hygiene items. All aid stations will have bathroom access except where noted; individual aid stations may have specific limitations. Pacers are permitted under the race rules. Cutoff times apply for each distance and aid stations will close at their listed cutoffs.

Awards include handmade top-three awards by local artists for each distance and a custom finisher medal for all finishers. A $500 prize is offered for a new course record. A mid-race meetup and a post-race gathering at Second Line Brewing provide food and beverages for participants and crew. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
