Gator Tail 5k Trail Race

The Gator Tail 5k Trail Race is scheduled for October 25, 2025, at Northshore Technical Community College, 65556 Centerpoint Blvd, Lacombe, LA. The race field includes multiple event options and on-site activities in the parking lot behind the school.

Registration fees include tax and fees. Listed prices are: half-mile Gator Gallop (ages 10 and under) $20; 5K youth (ages 10 to 15) $25; 5K adults (15 and older) $30 ($35 after October 3); 5K NTCC students $25.

Course and logistics

The 5K and 1-mile runs begin at the campus and run through wooded areas next to the college and around the southwest perimeter of the Tamanend development. Terrain includes gravel, dirt, grassy paths, and short stretches of pavement. The Gator Gallop runs through a sandy field. Trail conditions can be wet and muddy depending on recent weather. The 5K route has three water stations.

Packet pickup is at the Lacombe campus lobby of the first building (flagpoles out front) on October 23, 24 and on race day. Ample parking is available on Centerpoint Blvd and behind the school. All 5K runners receive a participation medal and a t-shirt; prizes will be awarded for first through third place male and female. Gator Gallop participants receive a medal and t-shirt; 1-mile participants receive a t-shirt. A virtual option provides a t-shirt and participation medal by mail; virtual completion times are not counted for in-person competition.
