OUTLAST New Orleans : 6 Hour Challenge in Mandeville, LA
OUTLAST is a six hour trail endurance challenge in Mandeville, Louisiana. Runners complete a 5K loop once each hour. Each lap must be finished within the hour to remain in the event; finishing early allows rest until the next round, and missing a lap results in elimination. Completing all six laps awards the premium OUTLAST medal and a ranking on the national leaderboard.
Courses are trail based and include natural terrain such as dirt, rocks, roots, and elevation, with occasional pavement and gravel. Timing is done per 5K lap; a runner who completes all laps has a combined time that determines local winners and national leaderboard placement. Walking is permitted if the lap is finished within the hour.
Event support includes water, basic hydration, and snacks at the basecamp or loop start. This is a cupless event, so participants bring their own bottle or hydration system. Participants may set up a tent or personal aid area.
Recognition and prizes are tiered: a patch for four laps, a different patch for five laps, and a premium medal for six laps. All participants receive a premium OUTLAST tee. The fastest male and female by combined time earn the 1st Place OUTLAST award locally. National and championship prize structures include a $1,000 national champion cash prize and cash awards at the Outlast Championship in DFW on December 4, 2027.
