Woodlands 5K Trail Run

The Woodlands 5K Trail Run takes place alongside a 1-Mile Fun Run on September 26, 2026 at Woodlands Preserve in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Both events are organized to raise funds and awareness for local land conservation through Woodlands Conservancy.

Distances

  • 1 mile fun run
  • 5K trail run

The registration fees are listed as $30 for the 5K and $15 for the 1-mile event. All registrants receive an Individual Woodlands Conservancy Annual Membership. Registration income and event proceeds fund land protection and restoration work carried out by the Woodlands Conservancy land trust, which was organized in 2001 to preserve and restore forested wetlands and other ecologically or historically significant lands. The event materials note that Louisiana has lost 80% of its forested wetlands.

Award and fundraising details are provided. The 1-mile fun run awards Parks-for-All Hydro Flasks to overall male and female finishers. All 5K finishers receive a custom finisher medal at the finish line. 5K division awards include Parks-For-All Hydro Flasks for Masters (age 40 and over) and youth (age 12 and under), and Mignon Faget Palmetto glassware for overall male and female winners.

The event also supports peer fundraising called TrailRaiser, with a stated fundraising goal of $10,000 and tiered perks such as a top TrailRaiser prize, refunds for certain fundraising thresholds, and branded items for fundraisers. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
