The Long Run - Spring Forward

The Long Run takes place on a give or take five mile loop through Jacobsburg State Park. The route mixes single track and flat gravel trails and includes approximately 450 feet of elevation change. The start and finish are at the Jacobsburg State Park Equestrian Parking Lot near the Sobers Run trailhead.

Participants choose one of the event formats and complete laps around the loop:

  • 5 Mile
  • 3 Hour
  • 6 Hour

In the timed formats runners complete as many laps as possible within the allotted time. Spring Forward uses the original course direction and is run counter clockwise. The event is organized as a cupless, self supported trail race: participants must carry their own hydration, though coolers will be available for refilling bottles between laps or before and after the event. Runners in the multi hour events may use a personal bin or bucket under 30 gallons placed near the start and finish for aid.

The event is presented as a zero carbon event with an extra registration fee to offset travel emissions; the organizer subsidizes additional offset costs and partners with a carbon offset project. Monetary donations will be collected for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, and the event accepts donations for Sneakers4Good and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare.
