The Long Run - Spring Forward
The Long Run - Spring Forward is a trail event held at Jacobsburg State Park. The race is set on a loop measuring approximately 5 miles. The course terrain consists of a mixture of single-track paths and flat gravel trails, featuring approximately 450 feet of elevation change per loop.
Participants can choose from three distinct registration options:
- 5 Mile
- 3 Hour
- 6 Hour
For the timed options, runners complete as many loops of the course as possible within the designated time limit. While the event is part of a series that includes a Fall edition, the Spring Forward edition follows the original course direction.
The event operates with a focus on sustainability through a partnership with the Change Climate Project. It is organized as a zero carbon event, where carbon emissions related to the race are accounted for and offset. Registration includes a fee to offset the carbon emissions for personal travel to and from the park. Additionally, monetary donations are collected for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, and donation drives are held for Sneakers4Good and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare.
Financial assistance for registration fees is available through the Trail Mix Fund for runners who face financial barriers or belong to under-represented communities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
