The event emphasizes sustainability as a zero carbon race, with a $1 registration fee dedicated to offsetting carbon emissions. It is self-supported with no aid stations on the course, but water and electrolytes are available at the start/finish. All finishers receive a race pin, and awards are given to top male, female, and non-binary runners.
