Blues Cruise 50K Trail Ultramarathon and Relay

The event offers a 50K trail ultramarathon that circles Blue Marsh Lake near Reading, PA. The main loop is described as a 31 mile course through woods and fields with single track, rolling hills, and less than 0.5 miles of public roadway. The course includes one major climb called the "Ski Slope" with about 240 feet of vertical gain and one optional water crossing with a bridge alternative.

Seven themed aid stations are positioned along the course and are described as well stocked and staffed by local ultra runners. A strict nine hour time limit is enforced; aid stations 5, 6, and 7 have cutoff times and a sweep vehicle will be available for runners who are cut, with possible wait time. Camping is available for a small fee.

A relay option is offered for teams of two to four runners. Teams divide the 50K into four legs of roughly 4.7, 13.3, 7.1, and 6.75 miles; each leg is run by a single runner and teams receive relay awards. Registered participants are invited to a post race party featuring a full buffet, drinks, physical therapy staff, and massages. Race shirts will be ordered for registrants signed up by August 31 and all finishers will receive special swag. No deferrals or transfers are permitted except as specified under Trail Sisters criteria. An optional Refund Guarantee through a third party can be added at checkout to cover personal inability to attend; it does not cover event cancellation.
