Blues Cruise 50K Trail Ultramarathon and Relay

Blues Cruise is a trail event near Reading, PA that centers on a roughly 31 mile loop around Blue Marsh Lake. The course runs through woods and fields, features plenty of rolling hills and single track, and includes less than 0.5 miles of public roadway. One notable climb called the Ski Slope has about 240 feet of vertical gain. There is one optional water crossing that can be taken on foot or bypassed via a bridge.

The event includes seven themed aid stations that are stocked and staffed by local ultrarunners. A strict nine hour time limit applies and several aid stations will enforce cutoffs; a sweep vehicle is available for runners who are cut. Camping is offered for a fee.

A relay option is available for teams of 2 to 4 runners. A team captain must register the team and each relay participant registers individually. Relay teams divide the course into four legs with one runner per leg. Prizes are planned for the fastest relay teams, and aid station support for relay runners may be limited.

Post race activities include a buffet, drinks, and on site physical therapy and massage services. Race shirts are ordered for registrants signed up by August 31 and all finishers receive event swag.
