The Long Run - Fall Back

The Long Run is held on a give-or-take 5 mile loop at Jacobsburg State Park. The course combines single track and flat, fast gravel trails and includes about 450 feet of elevation change. In the fall edition the original course is run in the opposite direction from the spring edition.

Participants may complete a single loop or run repeated loops within timed events of three hours or six hours. Course maps are available, including a downloadable GPX file and separate published routes for the spring and fall layouts.

The event is organized as a zero carbon event. The organizer subsidizes the cost to offset the event and includes a fee in registration to offset carbon emissions related to individual travel. The event partners with Change Climate Project for a carbon offset project and collects monetary donations for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center.

Donation drives at the event accept contributions for Sneakers4Good and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare. A Trail Mix Fund exists to pay race registration fees for runners who cannot afford them, with emphasis on supporting BIPOC and LGBTQ+ participants.

Notable course record performances are listed by distance and time for the spring and fall editions. Distances: Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
