Event Overview
The Kingwood Ultras is a multi-day trail running event held in Frenchtown, New Jersey, on the Flagg Kirkland Trail. The event features a diverse range of endurance tests centered around a 2 mile loop course. This course takes participants through local woods and fields, crossing wooden bridges and passing over mountain streams.
The route is classified as a quasi-technical trail. Each 2 mile loop includes approximately 300 feet of elevation gain. Participants have access to a Base Camp Aid Station that serves prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. The camping area and aid station are equipped with water and power charging stations for electronic devices.

The event offers several individual race formats based on distance or time duration:

Logistics and Recognition
Runners are allocated a 10 by 10 foot spot along the course at the Base Camp area for camping or support. Parking is located within 100 yards of the camping site. Participants may begin arriving to set up camp on the evening before the primary race starts.
All race finishers receive handmade awards created from various wood species found directly on the race course, such as Oak, Cedar, Walnut, and Ash. Runners completing 100 miles or more are awarded handcrafted belt buckles made from reclaimed wood. Those in the hourly categories receive awards based on specific distance milestones reached during their allotted time, including 26.2 miles, 50K, 50 miles, and 100K.
