Kingwood Ultras - Frenchtown, NJ (September 11–13, 2026)
Kingwood Ultras is a multi distance trail event held at Horseshoe Bend Park, about three miles from Frenchtown, New Jersey. The event offers multiple race options:
- 100 Mile
- 48 Hour
- 24 Hour
- 50 Mile
- 12 Hour
- Marathon
- 6 Hour
- 10K (Saturday)
- 10K (Sunday)
The course is a two mile loop that winds through forest and open field, crosses small streams, and includes wooden bridges. Underfoot runners should expect a quasi-technical trail with roots and rocks and about 300 feet of elevation gain per lap. The loop format returns runners to a shared base area every two miles.
At night the route is marked with glow sticks and reflective ribbons, and mileage markers appear every quarter mile. Support is centralized at a single Base Camp aid station seen each lap, with standard ultra fare such as fruit, cookies, candy, chips, PB&J, potatoes, water, sports drink, and soda, plus periodic hot meal service. Each registered runner receives a 10 foot by 10 foot Base Camp space with nearby parking and access to porta potties; limited indoor style sleeping cots are available first come first served. This is a cup free event so runners must provide their own bottle, cup, or hydration pack.
Finishers receive unique wood based awards, with handcrafted buckles for longer distance finishers. All registered runners receive a Kingwood Ultra T shirt.
