Course

The event takes place on the Flagg Kirkland Trail in Frenchtown, New Jersey. Runners follow a 2-mile loop course through woods and fields. The trail includes quaint wooden bridges and mountain streams.

The terrain is described as quasi-technical, with approximately 300 feet of elevation gain per loop.

Facilities

A Base Camp Aid Station serves as the central hub. It provides gourmet breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for runners. This area also has a water station and power charging stations. All runners are allotted a 10'x10' spot along the course at this location.

Parking is available approximately 100 yards from the camping area.

Camping is available, with arrival permitted starting on Thursday evening. All campers and runners must vacate the park by Sunday evening.

Registration and Awards

Registration opens in early April. All registered runners receive an event t-shirt.

Finishers in the ultra races receive one-of-a-kind, handmade awards that incorporate wood species from the race course. Those completing the 100-mile distance (and beyond) receive a handcrafted belt buckle. Hourly race participants who complete specific distance milestones (such as 50K or 100K) receive awards for the maximum distance they achieved. All 10K finishers also receive a unique award. Looney Leprechaun Trail Races takes place March 7, 2026 at Tyler State Park in Newtown, PA. The event offers a 10K trail race and a 1/2 Marathon on park trails, with member discounts, age group awards and event shirts for early registrants.

A trail challenge at Worthington State Park featuring a tough 6.7-mile loop. Runners can choose between a 30K or a 50K+ distance, both with generous time limits. All official finishers receive an award.

A give or take five mile loop through Jacobsburg State Park with singletrack and gravel sections. Options include a 5 mile event or three hour and six hour timed efforts, and the event follows a zero carbon approach.

The Philadelphia Trail Marathon takes runners through the scenic Wissahickon Valley Park. Choose between a marathon or half marathon on single track trails. Finishers earn a themed medal and enjoy a post race party with music and pizza.
