Boulder Field 100 - Jim Thorpe, PA

Boulder Field 100 is a trail event held within Hickory Run State Park, with start and finish at Sand Spring Lake pavilion. The event uses a figure-8 50K loop; 100K entrants complete the 50K loop twice.

The course is approximately 90% single-track and some wider multi-use trails, with about one mile of gravel road. Notable sections include a boulder field crossing (less than one mile) and the Shades of Death Trail, a rugged section of about one mile. Elevation gain is estimated at about 4,000 feet per 50K loop.

Time limits are set at 16 hours for the 100K and 14 hours for the 50K. The 100K enforces a 15.5 minute per mile cutoff. Aid stations are placed approximately at miles 5, 10, 12, 19, and 25.5 for the 50K and 100K, with additional stations for the 100K at miles 31, 36, 41, 43, 50, and 55.5. Water and Gatorade are available at aid stations; participants are advised to carry at least 16 oz of fluid between stations and to bring preferred fueling items.

Bib pickup is at the pavilion next to Sand Spring Lake, Hickory Run State Park. All finishers receive a finisher award; awards are also presented to the top three overall and top five in age groups 18-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.
