The route uses many of the Nature Center's trails. It begins with a short steep pitch up the LNE trail, continues on the LNE, then descends the steep Eagles Trail to the flat and fast D&L towpath. Runners follow the 3 Ponds trail into extended single track sections, which then become more technical on the Double G and Chestnut Oak trails. The Prairie Grass trail features rolling hills before the final mile that ascends roughly 1,000 vertical feet to the finish.
