About the race
The Long Run - Spring Forward is a trail event based at the Equestrian Parking Lot at Jacobsburg State Park. The course is a counter clockwise configuration of the original Long Run route and follows a mix of single track and gravel trails.
The main loop measures about 5 mile and has approximately 450 feet of elevation change. Entrants choose one of three options:
- 5 mile single loop around Jacobsburg State Park on single track and gravel.
- 3 hour event - complete as many 5 mile laps as possible within the time limit.
- 6 hour event - complete as many 5 mile laps as possible within the time limit.
This is a cupless, self-supported event. Participants must bring their own hydration; coolers will be available to refill bottles between laps or before and after the event. Runners in the 3 hour and 6 hour events may stage one aid bin or bucket under 30 gallons near the start and finish. There is no limit on crew or support on race day, and the course is spectator friendly.
A Kids Hill Climb offers a short out-and-back on the same hill where children collect Easter eggs at turnaround points; registered participants may enter a child at no additional fee. All finishers receive a race finisher pin. Sustainable medals are awarded to the top three male, female, and non-binary finishers.
The event operates as a zero carbon event with a $1 per entry charge to offset personal travel and a partnership with Native Energy. Monetary donations will be collected for the Jacobsburg Environmental Education Center, and donations for Sneakers4Good and The Center For Animal Health and Welfare are accepted. The event is presented by Asics and Aardvark Sports Shop with additional sponsors. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
